O Jan's Fish Stand - Grafton

I visited this restaurant with my family and decided to try the Buffalo dinner. It was my first time trying buffalo carp and it was delicious and had a clean taste. I also ordered the jalapeño poppers and they were delightful!

The elderly woman sitting by the window was very unpleasant to the customers. She scolded them for calling her name and then suddenly smiled at them. When I requested some extra sauce for my fish that came without it, she replied rudely that I would have to wait because they were out of stock. The whole interaction was done with a bad attitude. I was also only asked if I wanted to be seated in a shadier area, like everyone else, after ordering my meal.

I spent $50 on a meal for my family at this restaurant. There was hardly any fish on the plate, only 2 small pieces that were overcooked and chewy. The shrimp was a decent size, but the fish pieces were small and tasteless. The mushrooms were overcooked and mushy. Personally, I don't think it was worth the $11. The woman at the counter was rude when my husband asked for extra toppings. She questioned why he wanted to put my brother's food on my plate and charged him for the extra toppings. When we asked for ketchup, she also gave us a hard time. When we asked for a container to take our leftovers home, she only gave us a small piece of aluminum foil. It was disappointing to be treated this way after spending so much money. I saw her give containers to other customers, so I know they weren't out. I would not return to this restaurant due to the poor service and quality of the food.

I'm glad I called in my order, because if I had to wait, I would have to stand there at least 20 minutes before my order was even taken and the fish is a little overcooked.

Unfriendly staff. Greasy mushy catfish. Replaced with undercooked catfish fritters.accompanied by rude comments spilling from the kitchen. NEVER AGAIN! Should be NOoo Jan's!!
