I had dinner with a small group of colleagues in the beer garden on a fine evening. I ordered the sauerbraten with knodel and salad. The food was tasty and there was a good amount. The sauce for the sauerbraten was not as sour as I like it, but it was good. I was also happy to see that they offered small deserts. I had a teacup full of ice cream with chocolate sauce. The only downside to our evening was that there was only one server for the whole beer garden. We had long waits for service. Three of our party had finished their meals before the other two were served. Then the same happened with the deserts. I was finished before my colleagues were served. Everyone enjoyed our food and waitress was friendly and spoke English for us.
Great salad and schnitzel. My wife had the schnitzel with sour cream sauce and I had the jagershnitzel, both were outstanding. The salad was fantastic. Highly recommend the Radler
We love this place and I think I've been at least twenty times since moving here in May. Either the restaurant in the front of the hotel or the Biergarten out back are open (seemingly not at the same time). If it's nice out, a sign will be out to join them in the Biergarten, which is our favorite part of this place, with its partially covered courtyard and calming little fountain. But if that isn't open, the restaurant in the front is just as nice. They have a wide variety of options, from traditional German to "snack options" like a 1/2 fried chicken or bread and cheese. Their trout is also delicious, as well as their schnitzel. The service is always fast and polite, despite usually only having one server at a time. Perfect for lunch, afternoon beer or dinner, but warning, it does get pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.
I went with co-workers to this restaurant and found it very enjoyable. I would have given it a 5 but my jagerschnitzel had sour cream in the sauce. It's common, but not my preference. Two of my co-workers got beef dishes and they were both very well cooked. It can be hard to find a place that doesn't overcook beef in Germany but this was right on target.
If you are looking for a fantastic cordon bleu and potato salad, this is the place! I love coming here and my favorite is when the weather is nice and to sit out in the biergarten - it's beautiful. The staff is fantastic and so polite. I love coming here. My husband loves to try a variety of things but if you ask him, his favorite is the cordon bleu. He loves it with a creamy gravy and they always accommodate. Their potato salad is so good that I will pick up a kilo of it to bring to a farewell luncheon - no leftovers! Their lattes are great too. Ask them what they have for dessert - it's always yummy. On Sundays come early so you can get a seat. There are times when the place is so packed that you may have to sit at a table with someone else, but it's worth it - the food is some of the best traditional you will find! Also, when it's in season get a bowl of their pumpkin soup - you wont be disappointed.
