Unexpected awesomeness in Government Camp my son and I dropped in while returning to PDX after paddleboarding and fly fishing. With 5 7 High Cascade Snowboard/skateboard camp filming one another in front, Unwritten Law blaring from the stereo and surf/skate vibe we felt right at home. I had a Tilamook chedder infused brat with their Cobra sauce a tangy, mayo, ketchup concoction with bacon bits. Delicious View all feedback.
Myself in a group of 3 came by this stand a few weeks ago after hiking Tom, Dick, and Harry. The hot dogs were standard. They weren 't seared, grilled, or the like. They didn 't have a snap like the hot dogs do when they come off of a grill. This made me a teeny bit sad. The guy at the stand was very nice and hospitable. I wasn 't a huge fan of my bratwurst dog. I got it with sauerkraut. I LOVE bratwursts. If I 'm at a concert or outdoor type event and there 's a bratwurst stand, I am there. This one had a very thick casing that was not easy to bite through. I struggled with it and ate about 2/3 of it. My friend had a plain hot dog and it was fine. He had the same comments. It wasn 't seared, it didn 't come out piping hot...Other friend had one with some sauce on it. She liked the sauce. That was my mistake and I should have gotten the sauce. But I don 't ordinarily eat sauce with a hot dog. Mustard only. Maybe some kraut. But the meat and bread should be enough. Easy place to pop in and out. It fit the bill and was affordable as we didn 't want to spend a ton of for some basic burgers, etc. We wanted a quick meal and then to get on the road back to Portland. Government Camp does not have a ton of selection so we were not keen on staying in town and eating a large meal. I did enjoy the music and that added to the appeal of eating outside in the sunshine.
Sure, it's a pricey dog. But the guy was nice, the setting was beautiful, the toppings were good, and we were fed and on our way in mere minutes.

Really great hot dogs, buns are slighty sweet, array of fancy mustards, variety of toppings.
The best dog in govy. No seriously these are the best ever and I love the cool vibe at the truck. They use to play some cool tunes so please bring them back. Don't pass this place up.
