My friend and I booked a table to celebrate my birthday, we arrived a bit earlier to have some drinks, and the pink-haired waitre... read more AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! My friend and I booked a table to celebrate my birthday, we arrived a bit earlier to have some drinks, and the pink-haired waitress lead us to the table. After a couple of minutes, an older waitress called over and asked if we were ready to order, my friend asked for a few more minutes so we could finish our drinks, and the woman's reply was a frown followed by abruptly turning to the next table. After that, we were ignored for 45 minutes before giving up and leaving. During that time, this older waitress came over to the tables close by and served them, always ignoring us. We then stand to pay and leave, this waitress that ignored us all this time then looked at us with a big sarcastic smile and thanked us. As soon as we got outside we could see her going to the table to clean it up. We got this clear strong feeling that we were so badly treated because we are not Irish/Europeans and especially because I am an Afro-American descendant. I hope this behaviour doesn't slide and is addressed properly.

Scrumptious turkey and ham with all the trimmings... read more Regularly visited by family and we can see why, good wholesome generous portions of food served with a smile. Scrumptious turkey and ham with all the trimmings and succulent salmon, really tasty. Whilst we absolutely didn’t need dessert, we managed to devour apple crumble, trifle and ice cream. Thriving restaurant in a small hotel, good food, service and value.

Visited to have a break during a difficult and tense few hours, and felt much better for it. You feel really valued, like the staff care about the welcome they give and the service you receive. We had breakfast, which was lovely. A truly comforting place for a meal.
