Some reviewers were disappointed with portion sizes and lack of communication regarding reservations. However, many praised the fabulous food, excellent service, extensive wine list, and vibrant atmosphere. The chef, James Bursey, is known for cooking every course to perfection. Overall, The Bistro is considered the best restaurant in Gorey with high-quality food and top-notch service, making it a must-visit dining destination.
In our last night in gorey we had a nice meal and had a children's menu and there it was nice and fresh. would recommend the restaurant for anyone who likes seafood. my man loves seafood in not big in seafood, but I'll be better. as they say, if you don't try that you never know. personal, where very good with the children, friendly and helpful.
Food was absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable and the staff were so lovely. We will definitely be back when we’re in Wexford again!
Always amazing eating and atmosphere in the bistro ..
A beautiful meal with friends we hadn't seen long ago. large selection of fish and everything cooked nicely. good wine list. it wasn't there for a long time, but it's gonna go back. service good and very helpful for my disabled man. it was a little loud as full, but that shows how popular it is.
Located on goreys main street, the bistro is slightly located, inside is bright and modern and very well spaced. the staff are welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. the service has been appropriately lasted and the special areas listed with confidence. when serving the wine, both taste and the label show were perfectly executed. for the starter I had the goat cheese chop with rocket and balsamico. my partner had the smoked fish with mini toasts. both portions were generous and incredibly tasteful. for the main I ordered lammage, with creamy maic and seasonal green vegetables; she ordered the scallops and king garnels in chili sauce with rosmarin and garlic carrots. the lamb was perfectly boiled and fell without effort from the bone. the maish was as promised very creamy and smooth, and the brandy jus both rich and tasteful. the scallops were deliciously tender with the right amount of bite in the sauce, the part of the rosmarinkartoffles was incredibly generous, and perfectly crispy if not a touch light on rosmarin and garlic. neither dessert enough filled by us, but the dessert menu seemed very appealing and a beautiful surprise to see humble classics like Rhabarb crumb on the list. fantastic eating, fantastic service and excellent fair prices.
