My boyfriend and I were on a roadtrip back to South Dakota after a stay in Colorado. If you don't know, there are very limited food options on the stretch between the two! We found Covered Wagon after some searching and are so happy we found this gem! I had a mushroom and Swiss and he had a quarter pounder with a side of French fries and tots. Everything was amazing! Bought 4 hamburgers and 4 blts. All lettuce and tomatoes were completely soggy. The bread fell apart from the condiments being so soggy. Drink was wrong. Couldn’t get that right. Wasn’t the normal people we saw before. I loved their blts. But I will never return now. I felt like they gave us yesterday’s lettuce and tomatoes to not waste it. So sad. 47$ I will never get back. I had a great experience at this concession stand! The burger was definitely a highlight and worth the trip to Gordon. However, I was a bit disappointed when my hot dog came on a soggy bun since I had requested it toasted. The corn dog was average and the chicken wings were a bit on the dry side. The pizza pocket was fantastic and I wish more places offered it. The French fries needed more salt, they were a bit bland. The curly fries were good, but I mostly got scraps which made it difficult to eat. Everyone enjoyed their burgers, much better than most fast food places. Just make sure to ask for napkins because we didn't receive any. For vegetarians, the fried veggies were tasty. In terms of kid-friendliness, it's best for smaller families. Stick to the drive-thru as the seating is limited and poorly lit. I'm unsure about amenities like the bathroom. There's enough parking available, but it's not ADA compliant. As for dietary restrictions, they don't seem to be a priority here. Overall, a solid option for concession stand food.
I would not recommend ordering the large size at this restaurant as they charge more but give you the same size as a medium. The service is for take-out and the meals are affordable, ranging from $1-10 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 3 out of 5.
The restaurant offers great food at affordable prices. The service is excellent and it is a good place for takeout lunch. The average price per person is between $1 and $10. The food, service, and atmosphere are all rated at 5 stars.
