The fish was so fresh and soft it literally fell to pieces. My wife and I just melted over our pieces of flake it was that good. Chips are hand cut and as one reviewer said earlier, they are yummy. One piece of advice. Take cash as they dont accept cards. Also beware the South Australia bank across the road. Slugged me $2.00 transaction fee to draw cash out to pay for our lunch. I must admit the extra two dollars was... View all feedback.

New owner don't have a clue how to run a fish and chip shop, maybe try at a school canteen first, got half order, was expect to eat cold food when returned to there shop, not even a sorry from the old lady behind the counter, just excuses, when we have visitors to GOOLWA will be sure to let them know of our experience at this place, get your act together or you will end up like the other one that is now a empty shop View all feedback.
The staff at this restaurant were friendly, and the food was mostly good. However, the salad was a little bland. Surprisingly, no tickets were given when ordering, only when the order was finished. This made it difficult when there were over 30 people outside with the same or similar orders. It might be helpful to have a LED light with the order number ready for people waiting outside, or to have the ticket number on the receipt. Just a suggestion to improve efficiency. Keep up the good work!
Service was prompt and fish was nicely cooked and batter was very crisp and chips were also hot. We also tried the burger with the lot and ingredients were nicely cooked and very hot, Will definitely buy again.
First time here and this place was average. From what I was served, chips needed to be cooked more, calamari was a little soggy and not crisp but the fish was good it broke apart beautifully. 20min wait before 6pm OK. Extra point for putting in more calamari than i ordered thanks. If I could say one thing to management, you need to cook your chips longer but I know you can't please everyone. Edit: After inquiring, the chips come frozen but are left to defrost in a holding bay. IMO you can tell they're from frozen
The best fish and chips in Goolwa can be found at this restaurant. The prices are good and the staff is friendly, always ready for a chat. The restaurant is very clean with nice outdoor seating options, or you can dine inside if it's cold. The hamburgers are delicious. Convenient parking is available right at the door and the restaurant is open late. Enjoy a meal here or take your food down to the wharf to watch the boats passing by.
Cadell Street Fish and Chips appears to be a well-managed establishment offering a variety of high-quality takeout options. They offer a good selection of fish and delicious chips. The restaurant is very popular on weekends. I would definitely visit again.
