Leavened Bakery - Gold Beach

We have had the pleasure to stop here a few times especially during an extended stay in the area. This is a MUST ! Such a wonderful bakery the service , smiles and quality of the baked yummies are out of this world. I still dream of the savory wild mushroom tarts I had for Thanksgiving courtesy of Leavened. Today's run: sourdough bread and some dessert pastries.

Unique, great find on 2nd street, just off main drag in a residential house. Everything appears house made, and is wonderful. The baker assists your choice making at a walk up window. Tables and chairs available on lawn or under leafy trees. I saw them come out and sanitize ours, just after we left. Secret hint, get a couple of the day old pastries to go! You get a buck off and they are just as good. Really unique flavors of pastries and I LOVED my Oregon Trail Affagato...with fresh roasted hazelnuts. Do not miss this place if passing thru Gold Beach.

This in-home shop is a wonderful find! She is only open Wednesday-Friday and you need to get there before she runs out. The best deal is to buy bread and then walk down the street to get homemade soup at Old Agness Store and you have a perfect lunch. As you arrive, you walk up to the window where the baker greets you like sunshine. The available goodies are on a chalkboard so you can see just what is left. If you're lucky, you can buy everything!

Mariah has made a wonderful bakery and her amazing recipes have people lined up to her window. I highly recommend you make a stop on your way through Gold Beach. Very worth it!
