Having looked forward to the Codium experience, our expectations were completely met. We had a full 4 hours Friday lunch in the nicest possible setting even the noise level, iften a problem, was quite low. The food was excellent in almost every way: complex tastes that will linger in our sensual memory for a long time. The offered accompanying drinks arrangement also is set to satisfy almost every taste half glasses and non alcoholic beverages available too. The service is not only impeccable, but radiates informal friendliness as well as real understanding of the background of food and drinks. A few additional remarks as an extra tip: In general the portioning was quite good, but a bit more if the main course would have been welcome. The accompanying bread was crusty and the butter heavenly, but it would have been nice to have extra bread in demand in order to soak up the sauce, instead if having to wait till it was baked. And 2 remarks just reflecting personal taste: oysters to our taste are good as they are, and should not be trifled with by poaching etc. the cheeses were remarkable by way of the rare places they come from to the detriment of their taste. Places like Roquefort are not famous for nothing and unknown places not always better. But the wonderful digestif of eau de vie framboises sauvages at a very low price made up for it in a grand way. Codium already has a Michelin star, which is greatly deserved. Recommended!
