Happened to this restaurant after our Sunday midday reservation had been canceled in another facility due to an unforeseen closure. very impressed by the friendly welcome of the staff. then we enjoyed a really good three-course lunch in a pretty, rustic environment. next to a warm wood stove with views of the surrounding Flemish landscape. we also bought some bottles of the trapist beer and half a round of the delicious local cheese from the loading next door. an unforgettable and positive experience!
Situated on the hill in the fabulous monastery, this bar/restaurant is an ideal test place for beer or coffee, whether you drive on a walk or a walk. we have visited many paintings in the course of the years, but on this visit we were served by a beautiful trainee waitress, this place is very busy to time, but the little ones seem to cope. would not recommend eating here, not eating many locals, but for a quick stop, it is ideal.
With a good view of the surrounding landscape, this auberge is a welcoming and pleasant place to lunch, we saw an automatic racial meander erratically outside until it caught between a rock and a hard place, then we had to entertain. The foods are traditional Flanders cuisine, well cooked and tasteful. in my pursuit of local order I had the assiette abbaye really a gammon steak with a cheese sauce from the nearby abbey milk tasty, but no more than they expect from gammon cheese. frau prano o' had lambs, which were also delicious. jm the enkelkinder had carbonate flamande that they find in almost every restaurant in 100 miles (or 161km if they want). I had my usual taste and it seemed too sweet. in a stew I do not look aroundami, but all on their own. with beer wine, desserts coffee came the bill to €121,40 for the 5 of us a pleasant and reasonable experience.
Closest place to the Abbey to try Mont des Cat beer. Great location with some amazing views. Only ever had the bread cheese which was a bit ordinary. Other food beer available.
Been dropping in here for years, always made to feel unwelcome so stay for two overpriced drinks just to **** them off
