We had seen this cafe on Trip Advisor as number one in Gmunden. Friends who were giving us a guided tour of Gmunden took us in. The waitress described all the cakes in excellent English. They were amazing! We ordered tea, a cake each and decaffinated cappucinos. Decaf is hard to find in Austria so we were very please. I had the fruit omelette. Majestic sweets, time travel ambience, friendly service, must visit. Inventive take traditional desserts, some as bright as clouds, accompanied by well-made coffee.
Beautiful discovery, great coffee, good and effective service, but there is a bit of a smile there missing for me unfortunately. The rest is perfect!

You have to go there if you want sweet food and desserts or a good coffee. We were there for a breakfast and I had a very good marble cake and the best cream roll I ever had (the roll... filled with puff pastries with sweet filling of pickled protein). It was so fresh and so delicious! And it looked like it was a very popular desert there, because many Gmunden inhabitants came there and bought 10 or more of these roles to take away. Honestly, I fell in love with this place and I must recommend it!
Best cafe and cakes in Austria!!! Visited with my family and had a great time, just butyfull place with a view on the lake.
