This restaurant is more well-known for its bar than its menu. The seafood is not the freshest, despite being located right across the street from the harbor. The staff is friendly and the restaurant has a nice two-floor seating area. It was Christmas Eve when I visited, so it may be better to judge during peak season.
After enjoying a show in Rockport, we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. I ordered the chowder, which was hot, thick, and full of clams and potatoes. The salad with avocado, pears, sliced almonds, and goat cheese topped with a fig balsamic dressing was perfect. I even used the warm bread to soak up every last bit of the dressing. For the main course, I had mushroom stuffed ravioli in a creme fraiche sauce with a side of butternut squash, which was absolutely delicious. My date, who needed a gluten-free option, ordered the sautéed shrimp vieste with a side of fried polenta, which was perfect. For dessert, I had grapenut custard with whipped cream, just like my grandmother used to make. Our server Megan was very accommodating, attentive, and friendly. We can't wait to come back again.
Just had our first solo night out since we had our two year old. Paul was a very sweet young man and took great care of us. The food was remarkable. Truly a great break from our normal busy lives!
We asked a local where to eat and were led in the right direction to Topside Grill! The clam chowder was rich and flavorful which paired nicely with the flounder being light and delicate. French fries crispy without being heavily fried. Watermelonmargarita so refreshing. Absolutely loved our experience here!
