The Market On Lobster Cove - Gloucester

The food was delicious although a little underwhelming for the price tag. Portions were decent, fish was fresh and I appreciated the use of what was available exactly how local seafood should be. Service was mostly very thorough but at times disappointing. Baked Alaska was tasty but the flavors were unbalanced, the ice cream very crystally, and the portion was too big for even two. A disappointing end to a fairly delicious meal. The german sparkling wine a sekt, which is hard to find outside of Germany was by far the highlight.

The Market Restaurant on Lobster Cove has a limited menu that changes daily with availability of locally sourced ingredients. We both had the lamb with the eggplant and fall tomato panade which was excellent. The buttermilk cake was great as well. We really enjoyed the evening and look forward to returning next season.

Superb food, Pricey, and the noise level is a problem. But a special meal nonetheless.

Market is absolutely fantastic! The menu is different every day and the food was phenomenal. As soon as we saw the options for the day, we knew we wanted to try as much as possible. They also offer a great selection of wine and beer. We adored the charming and uncomplicated interior. I can't wait to come back in the early summer and sit outside on their porch. I am already looking forward to returning next year!

The Market Restaurant is hands down our favorite summer spot. The ambiance is ideal, the staff is top-notch, and the dishes are innovative and scrumptious. It's not just the best eatery north of Boston, but in the entire Northeastern United States.
