Description

Nestled in a vibrant location, this restaurant offers a diverse menu that extends beyond seafood, making it a solid choice for various palates. Guests appreciate the spacious and bright venue, which enhances the dining experience. While some found the food decent but not particularly memorable, with the fried seafood lacking seasoning, the warm hospitality shines through. Bartenders provide helpful guidance on ordering, ensuring newcomers feel welcome. However, the impending closure of Captain Carlo’s adds a bittersweet note to the atmosphere, leaving patrons nostalgic as they savor their final moments at this beloved establishment.

If you're seeking a diverse menu (beyond just seafood), this is the place to visit. I didn't have high expectations, but I anticipated a slightly better experience. Everyone in my group...

When we arrived, we were unsure of what to do or where to go. Thankfully, the bartender directed us to order drinks at the bar. He then suggested that if we wanted food, we should head inside.

Last night was a bittersweet experience. My friends and I had a fantastic time, but it was our final evening at Rock The Dock. Captain Carlo's is closing its doors for good...

I highly advise against visiting this restaurant. I went for lunch with friends and ordered takeout. I ordered a lobster roll, but when I got home, I found it was just cold chunks of lobster on a bun—no mayonnaise, no lettuce, and none of the usual toppings. I called to express my concern and spoke with Carlton, who said I could come in later for a replacement. However, about thirty minutes later, Carlton called me back to say that Rose, the manager, had decided not to provide a replacement lobster roll. Instead, they offered me a piece of lettuce if I came back. I would recommend eating anywhere else—this business is misleading to its customers, and it's a shame.

One of our favorite friendly spots! The owner and staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. The views of Gloucester are beautiful, and the seafood dishes are fantastic. Don't miss the juicy, tender prime rib and the best French onion soup, among other delicious options. If you're looking for a friendly, relaxing waterfront restaurant with great food, CC is the place to go!
