This place is beyond incredible. Just had a doughnut and I knew I was in trouble. I was so good that I can't wait to have another. Lunch is great. Huge variety of selections. Had a hard time decoding what I wanted. Would eat here every day if I could. View all feedback.
Tucked away behind another coffee shop and an abandoned restaurant, follow the signs, this coffee shop is located in the large barn type enclosure all the way in the back attached to the Purple Cat Winery. The place is giant. Very high ceilings, very dark inside with strung lights. Lower level with couches and a lounge area. If something like this was near me they would use it for local punk rock bands to play. I know they have a theatre group and winery and little cafe which hopefully packs it out at times. When we came (a Friday evening around 6:30) it was pretty dead inside. The girls behind the counter were really sweet. We just came in for a coffee and treat (I got a donut which I was told was they made fresh this morning) By looking at the pics on yelp, the food looks great. If we are in the area again I would like to come back.
I called Gina at 6:30 am one morning in desperate need of help. I was getting married the following week and my dessert company canceled last minute. Gina was so kind and helpful. She stepped up to the plate and baked and decorated about 300 donut holes and 100 donuts for my wedding. They were a huge hit. She even decorated to my color scheme. I am proud to say I was her first wedding dessert catering event, and she hit it out of the park. THANK YOU Philanthropy Tea Coffee! Fabulous!
Philanthropy Tea Coffee is above all else located in a very unique, back lot, hidden gem sort of area and has a very unique and endearing atmosphere! This place is connected to a theater and a winery, both of which have gone un-visited by myself, but seem rather exciting. As for the drinks, the coffee doesn 't have the strongest espresso flavor (we went with the lattes but the drinks overall are very enjoyable, we went with the caramel and the chocolate lattes. The food was quite good as well! We went with the turkey and bacon crepe and the food came out fresh, hot and scrumptious. The service was also fast and friendly. This place is a little hard to find (don 't accidentally go to the more prominent coffee shop out front, it 's a bit of a let down in comparison, though still good! . You 'll need to drive down Purple Cat Way which basically means go through the first parking lot and down a little hill. I would definitely say there 's character, value and maybe even an adventure hiding in the back of this lot, so if you 're considering coming, get to it! This venue is well worth a visit, and should qualify as one of those off the beaten path hidden gems.
This place is fantastic, from all the tea, lattes, crepes, sandwiches, not to mention the winery.... Great place to go eat and relax with a book
Definitely put this place on your must do list if you 're visiting #GeorgeWashingtonCampground. It 's so close and offers great selection of teas and cold brews. Wish we could 've stayed longer, the live music (every Saturday and Sunday) was PERFECT vibe. Good casual food menu and friendly customer service. We 're returning to this place for sure.
