My wife and I dined at Tatami's with another couple on a Friday evening due to OpenTable reviews I read. Nothing pretentious in this small, strip mall location, but what a delightful, friendly restaurant serving excellent Japanese food with gracious service. If you like calamari, the appetizer with two sauces is delicious, as were the salads and soup. My wife and one friend split sushi rolls, her husband a cucumber dish, while I savored the teriyaki salmon, which has an interesting, flavorful side of white rice. Portions are generous and the presentation of the food is very nice. We all plan to dine at Tatami's again soon.
I've been eating at Tatami for almost two years now, and have found that they are consistently good on every front. Service is always polite and attentive without being pushy. The uni shooters are fantastic and I always start my meal with one. Their rolls are really fantastic, balancing elements like spicy, salty, texture and portion. My husband loves their maki. Personally, I always go for sashimi when I eat at Tatami. The fish is always fresh, has fantastic texture and is served at the proper temperature for maximum flavor. The ambience is very relaxed and sleek. I always recommend Tatami and will continue to eat there.
We've been there several times and will return again. The menu is extensive enough to keep us from getting bored as we work our way through it. Very friendly and helpful staff.
