When we finally did, the server informed us that his colleagues were unwilling to take on any more tables, so he could only take our order after a short wait. Okay… Our food took a long time to arrive, and we rarely spotted our server. While the food was delicious, the level of service and professionalism left much to be desired. It appeared that they were unprepared for the large crowd that evening. They definitely need to improve their hospitality, but I must say, the sushi was fantastic and the spicy udon seafood soup was absolutely remarkable!
This place is great for anytime dining, dressed up or casual. The food is excellent.
I've been eating at Tatami for almost two years now, and have found that they are consistently good on every front. Service is always polite and attentive without being pushy. The uni shooters are fantastic and I always start my meal with one. Their rolls are really fantastic, balancing elements like spicy, salty, texture and portion. My husband loves their maki. Personally, I always go for sashimi when I eat at Tatami. The fish is always fresh, has fantastic texture and is served at the proper temperature for maximum flavor. The ambience is very relaxed and sleek. I always recommend Tatami and will continue to eat there.
I recently made a reservation for a party of eight to celebrate a birthday at Tatami. We ordered a variety of specialty rolls, vegetable tempura, and vegetable gyoza. Everything was tasty, and the presentation was beautiful. Just a heads up: if you order the rolls labeled as spicy, be aware that they are actually quite hot. The service was a bit slow at first, but it got better as the evening progressed. The dining area is small, but it has a warm and cozy atmosphere, beautifully decorated. I would definitely go back.
This is an excellent sushi restaurant located in the suburbs. The dishes are full of flavor, and the presentations are particularly attractive. Be sure to try the calamari appetizer; the dipping sauces pair perfectly with the lightly fried calamari. Delicious!
