Whataburger - Glendale
Whataburger
Description
Whataburger offers a culinary experience that is as vibrant and varied as its menu. Diners rave about the delicious shakes, particularly the summer-special banana pudding shake, while their fries and seasonal offerings keep customers coming back for more. However, service inconsistencies plague some visits, with reports of long waits for curbside orders and missing items from rolls, leading to customer frustration. Despite the challenges, many patrons appreciate the friendly staff and clean environment, making it a nostalgic favorite for some. Overall, Whataburger remains a beloved option, though it faces criticism in execution and speed.

This restaurant is amazing, and the service is consistently excellent. I've visited several times, and it's always lively. Even when they’re short-staffed, I still receive top-notch customer service. One of the supervisors, Lemonia, is incredibly pleasant and a joy to interact with. My favorite dish is the jalapeño and cheese, and they always prepare it perfectly!
I recently ordered a meal from this restaurant, and while everything else was good and the service started off quick and attentive, my experience changed at the pickup window. I waited for 13 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. I could see the woman at the register, and I began to wonder if there was a problem. All she needed to do was inform me that she would assist me shortly. After waiting 15 minutes without any communication, I chose to leave. I'm really disappointed with the service tonight, and I won't be coming back.
To be honest, if a restaurant has a drive-thru but there are three to four customers waiting for their food after placing their orders, it probably shouldn't offer a drive-thru at all. Fast food should be quick, not just convenient. If that's not possible, maybe they should consider closing it down.
Whataburger has always been dependable with good food—until you order something they probably don’t sell very often. I ordered an apple pie with my dinner, and what is usually a short wait turned into over 20 minutes just to cook an apple pie! One of the worst parts was asking for spicy ketchup and not getting any, plus no napkins were provided. The final straw was picking up some fries and finding a long blonde hair stuck to them. Disgusting! I returned the entire order because I wasn’t willing to take any chances and received a full refund. The shift manager showed no apology and seemed more interested in leaving than addressing my concerns. That’s fine, because there are plenty of other burger places in Phoenix that will earn my business—not Whataburger!
This place really needs to improve! It was my first time visiting Whataburger, and I ordered the number one meal. When the staff asked if I wanted cheese, I said yes, and I also requested two dipping sauces. However, when I checked my receipt, I noticed I was charged for both the sauces and the cheese without any mention of it. After I got home, I discovered my burger had no cheese, and the sauces I unknowingly paid for were missing from the bag as well. It's so disappointing that I would give this a zero if I could, but since I have to rate it, I'm giving it a 1 instead.
