Recommended by the information centre when we asked for a country pub experience .We were not disappointed , great food and atmosphere with a log fire on a chilly winter evening . we came back next morning for breakfast , also very nice , noticed there was also a great selection of lovely home made cakes if you just wanted morning or afternoon tea . What Davonte Jerde doesn't like about The Great Central Hotel:
We read the reviews on this and were staying in the hotel so decided to have dinner there. One meal was the pork medallions with creamy sauce and a side of vegetables....the pork was a bit overcooked and chewy but the sauce was nice. The veg were basic and the carrots overcooked. My partner had catch of the day and ordered a side of chips and was not informed there were chips with his meal. Consisted of one small pie... View all feedback.

We spent a chilly winters weekend and can highly recommend the hotel for its friendly and helpful staff and a great atmosphere. 3 fireplaces in the bar and restaurant offers a cosy, welcoming feel. The restaurant offered classic pub meals as well as chef's specials. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the shared bathroom was suitable for our stay. The owners have done a terrific job renovating this old classic aussie pub and I encourage you to experience it. There's nothing not to like.

My partner had catch of the day and ordered a side of chips and was not informed there were chips with his meal. Consisted of one small piece of fish, 2 pce calamari that was not tender, 2 pastry prawns and 1 battered prawn...disappointing I also was excited to see mulled wine on the menu but it was not good.
One of the best meals ive had and they were great with the kids. Really friendly staff and were great with helping us with some dietary requirements. Thankyou!
Went here for dinner with family on a trip through Glen innes recently. The service was outstanding. There was a mixup with one of our meals which was late to come. We were given 2 free deserts as a result. Meals we beautiful and very big. Fire was awesome. We will eat here whenever we are in Glen. Thanks.
