$64 for 2 mains, 2 beers and one dessert. The food was really well done. I had lamb shanks and the other guest had a burger. Very very good food, high quality. The chocolate mint mouse dessert was really special. We have eaten here twice and will be back.
What User doesn't like about The Centre Bar & Grill:
The bar does not entice you in to have a drink a short bar with two stools . Lights are too bright music too loud. No atmosphere, just like a burger place. Staff do not dress or act professional, though friendly. Burgers we ordered were ok nothing special and small, chips were great but had to order separate not included. We spent $64 on two main dishes, two beers, and one dessert. The food was prepared exceptionally well. I ordered the lamb shanks and my companion had a burger. The quality of the food was excellent. The chocolate mint mousse dessert was particularly delightful. This was our second visit to the restaurant and we definitely plan on returning again.
Excellent food and reasonably priced aswell. I will definitely have to make it a regular place for dinner. Jalapeño poppers and chicken wings are a must ! Ribs and burgers are really good too !! The desserts are to die for. Just what Bentleigh needed.
My friend and I arrived early for our reservation, so we decided to have a drink at the bar before being seated. Unfortunately, the bar was located at the back near the kitchen, so we asked to be seated at our table instead. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, facing the bar and kitchen. I could see the serving area from the kitchen, with its heat lamps constantly turning on and off. There was a draft coming from the bathroom door whenever it was left open. The menu offered a fusion of cuisines, such as Indian, Mexican, and ribs burgers, which I found a bit overwhelming. I ordered the Chicken with Quinoa, which was tasty but had a generous amount of Harissa topping. My friend ordered the Scotch Steak, which was cooked well but lacked vegetables. The chat potatoes were overly seasoned and there weren't enough of them on the plate. The salad was too sweet due to the candied walnuts. We ended the meal with a Sticky Date Pudding, which was delicious but contained date pips. The wine list was limited but had some good options. The wait staff was friendly, with Pooja being particularly attentive. Jasmine, an experienced staff member, seemed out of place in the restaurant. The bar area was not inviting, with dirty dishes piled up. The bathrooms needed cleaning. I am unsure if I will return, as the restaurant is working on a Winter Menu but does not have a website yet. I may consider returning once I can view the menu online.
I will definitely be returning to this restaurant many times! It's even better that I live just down the street. The service was great and the food and beer were fantastic!
