Dined here on Saturday night, walked in at 8pm with no reservation and the staff shuffled some tables around to accommodate us at the bar.
Be sure to make a reservation We had the calamari noodles, pork belly, beef cheek and charcoal veggies.
I dropped in here with a friend for coffee and dessert. There were only two desserts on offer but we were happy with those and had one each - both of which turned out to be fabulous. The kitchen forms part of the restaurant and so the inside was incredibly hot and the smell just a bit too pungent for me. The tables outside though were fine though and the waiter very kindly offered to put the heaters on for us if we would like them. The coffee was great too so a very happy first time visit.
Being fans of Leonard's House of Love, my friend and I decided to try Ramblr. We decided to have a bottle of the Vine Mind Clare Valley Riesling which we were pleased with, and selected a few plates to share. The kimchi toastie was delicious, as was another burrata cheese dish and my friend highly rated the cured trout. We had a special mushroom pasta and a mussel pasta for mains, both were delicious. It was one of the best pastas I've had. What really made our evening was the excellent service; John looked after us and was knowledgable and friendly, ensuring our wine was always topped up and assisting us as required. The food is not fussy and overpriced, it is simple yet high quality. Our total bill was around $130, which was very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back here, and telling all my friends about it. They have done a great job with everything and I look forward to making this one of my locals.
We walked past and it looked good. It was good to watch the kitchen staff busy working in the restaurant in the open kitchen and the waiter was very knowledgeable. We had squid noodles, sensational flavour of Kim-chi and chilli with fresh perfectly cooked squid. ($14). We had the Kim-chi and cheese toastie - great chilli and cheese flavour on a brioche toastie- amazing. ($9)We had the special - mushroom pasta-best strong mushroom flavour I have ever had - better than I had in France or Italy. ( $18) We had the roasted vegetables, which was a surprise choice of a selection of beans, sugar snap peas and brocolini - roasted on a grill with cream, preserved lemons and chilli oil smeared over it- delightful char-drilled flavour. ($17) All taken in with a bottle of Fredericks Stevenson rose ($68). Coffee was good as well. If you like sitting at a bar, there is plenty of it, chairs and tables as well. Excellent food, with a slight Korean influence, great fresh flavours and talented staff, trying different things- well worth a visit if you want something with a casual approach to more classic dining.
