Malvern Curry House - Glen Eira

We don't know the owners of the Malvern Curry house from a bar of soap, so we don't have an axe to grind. I can only assume the people who've posted bad reviews are pals of the other restaurants in Malvern. All I can say is, the dinner we had tonight (Monday Nov 9 '15) was great, and the onion bhajis were the best we've ever tasted. And we aren't spring chickens, we've been to Indian restaurants all over the world. In a word, excellent.

Went there on a Scoopon deal......miraculously the fish curry and one other that we wanted was "Finished"...this was at 7pm....for dinne! Food was good - the decor questionable...mural of PARIS on the wall ! And I think the chef decided to cut up a million onions...with the door to the kitchen open....we were all in tears! The one waitress was very attentive and did her best. Dont think I will be back!

If there was an option for zero, I would select it.I ordered a lunch deal which included two curries, rice and either naan or a can of soft drink.I chose to have butter chicken as my "two curries" selection thinking I would get twice the serving of butter chicken. What I got instead was an absolute disgrace! My take away container was full of rice which left an approximate 4cm gap for butterchicken! I only had 3 pieces of chicken! the rest was sauce and quality of the rice and butter chicken was horrible- the rice tasted grainy and the butter chicken tasted OLD!Maybe I went on a bad day? But I most certainly will NOT be eating from Malvern Curry House again.

And when restaurants are new, they need to find their feet. The lunch we shared was fine, and it was at a fair price. We shared tandoori chicken, (a bit dry), dahl and rice. Assorted chutney's were complimentary. I have to say the staff were completely hospitable and charming and I hope they do well.

Saturday night , even though they was busy , they provide good service and amazing taste , butter chicken and lamb rogan josh and vegie curry was soooo good , definitely recommended ,
