We tried this restaurant as a group of 6 and were seated upstairs. After ordering a tonne of food, our favourite was by far the crispy duck (of which we ordered two servings). The service was efficient but the female owner was particularly friendly and lovely. If you purchase wine from Tom Pockett Cellars (the wine bar three doors down) they allow you to BYO with no corkage fee. I thought that this was a lovely gestu... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kerabu Restaurant:
The place was very crowded with regulars, and we had open seating upstairs. Don't bother! The food was watered down for the locals with no idea of authentic Thai food. Red curry was full of coconut with a very slight hint of spice; green curry was sweet with coconut milk and sugar. Belacan spicy eggplant had no belacan or chilli. Just oily and bland. Service was slow (needed 3 reminders for eggplant and long wait for... View all feedback.
Small portions and overpriced. it took 40 minutes to get our meal, with taking priority over sitting diners pay a 25% premium to wait. will not return or recommend. ramadan thai a kilometer away is so much better.
The food was very delicious. that was not long. the pad thai was a good portion. the only negatiw was that the staff seemed in a hurry to get us out of the restaurant (after we said we would not get dessert) as it was very busy,
We went there yesterday and said it was booked, but we saw that they took a booking on the phone. we decided to make a takeaway and ordered the snapper that was hard, but the accompanying salat was pretty nice. the veggies we had ordered had no shorts, which is why it was ordered. the fried rice we demanded of them to take the huh because of the food requirements, but they removed the wrong ingredients and left the huh. that is unacceptable.
Dined here a few weekends ago and I must say, Kerabu is probably the best Thai restaurant I've been to in Melbourne. The decor is lovely and although we had to wait a little while for our table, the service was very hospitable and the food came out quickly once we ordered. We ordered the Thai Red Curry, one of the beef dishes (couldn't remember the name), a fried rice and roti. The thing that stood out to me the most was how succulent and high quality the meat in the dishes was. Many Thai places use low quality chicken in their curries, but this definitely wasn't the case at Kerabu. The vegetables were also so fresh, and the flavours were authentically thai. The roti was perfect...read more
Unfortunately we were served uncooked pink chicken. They were happy to remove it from our table but still charged us for the dish. They gave us 10percent off the bill but we now feel sick. We will never be back. Would not recommend.
