Bala’s has been around for many years. There is a mixture of ready to eat meals and made-to-order stir fry’s. I always go for the stir fry. I had the Veggies and Tofu stir fry. The tofu was cooked to perfection, and you have a choice of white or brown rice. Balas is quite cheap when you purchase something ready made section. The made to order stir fry 's are much nicer, but a lot more expensive. Brown rice instead of... View all feedback.
What Camren Huels doesn't like about Bala's Cafe:
yup, the meals are cheap, but was it good? nahhhhhh! a strange mixture of mainly indian and some chinese dishes, i had rice with stir fry vegies in black bean sauce and beef vindaloo curry with brown rice. yes, it was sustainable, but I wouldn't reccommend it. View all feedback.
I have been a patron of this restaurant for a long time and was delighted to find that they were still serving the same delicious Asian cuisine. The menu offers a wide variety of options and is perfect for a quick meal on the go. This restaurant does not serve alcohol nor allow outside beverages. You simply walk up to the counter, peruse the menu, place your order, sit down, and enjoy your meal. I personally chose my two favorite dishes, the Thai yellow tofu, mushroom, and spinach curry, as well as the Indian lamb Rogan Josh with rice. I could eat these dishes every day.
I have visited Balas several times over the years and I believe it is a decent option for an inexpensive meal. The portions are generous and the food is flavorful, although it is not particularly outstanding. On the other hand, my vegan friend adores this place.
Haven’t been here for ages. It used to be great packed every time, great food and good service. Went back tonight after a long time wanted a quick meal before a nearby concert. The place was deserted which is always a good indication of how good or bad the food is. New owners new staff and very bland and boring food. Mango lassi was bland and tasteless. Pad Thai was equally bland. Beef stir fry was also dull and tasteless. So we ate a bland and disappointing meal, reminisced about how good it was in the past and left vowing to never return. There are so many good food choices nearby this isnt one of them
Bala's has a huge variety of authentic Indian dishes. It is reasonably priced too. There are quite a few vegetarian options. You can sit and eat or take way.
The staff are so friendly and generous with the portions. The food is great and the quantity is perfect! Beautiful Thai/Indian dishes! Will definitely return again
