Had a lovely late lunch from here yesterday. Complimentary soup was yummy. Sharing starter platter was excellent with amazing falafel and hummus. One of the best mixed grills I’ve ever had, the meat was very succulent and juicy, compliments to the chef! Bread was hot fresh too. Staff were friendly and attentive and the decor was really nice. Would definitely come back! Only improvement to suggest would be more hot me... View all feedback.
What WHB70 doesn't like about Waitrose Cafe:
Making use of our Waitrose cards to get free coffee we again tried to have lunch with our grandchildren at the cafe at Waitrose, Newton Mairns. Again we were disappointed. Last time we had to wait over half an hour for part of our meal. This time they served us the meal for my wife and I without bringing out the meals for our grandchildren. There were no glasses for water, no teaspoons (they rummaged out back and fou... View all feedback.
I would like to express my gratitude to Mark and Annette at the customer service desk for their exceptional help today with my return inquiry. They went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of, specifically with my tea towels. Hopefully, they will remember me by this. Thank you.
The coffee is good, but the prices at this restaurant are quite high.
This was my first experience walking into a cafe just an hour after opening, only to discover the only option was a bacon roll or nothing. I found it disappointing considering the cafe is located in a town filled with options like rolls, sausages, and various other breakfast items. With six nights staying at the nearby Travelodge, I had to search for new venues for breakfast each morning.
When for breakfast, thinking its Waitrose so should be good. My wife ordered the banana bread toast and I ordered eggs Benedict. We had finished our tea and coffee when the food arrived and it looked terrible. My wife had one extremely small slice of bread on a tea plate and my eggs were raw and looked a real mess. I took mine straight back to the counter. After about ten mins my food came back looking a bit better. On the first bite I noticed that something was sweet, it was the hollandaise sauce. I think the chef had added sugar to it but it made the whole thing uneatable. No apologies or refunds offered. Definitely do go these for breakfast!!!
I was staying in the adjacent Premier Inn and after a terrible meal in the Beefeater I was planning to grab a sandwich from the Waitrose store, but what a pleasant surprise to find a little cafe which was still serving hot food at 6pm. Friendly staff, great fish pie and good value for money. I would use Waitrose cafes again.
