This restaurant is the perfect spot for a quick bite within walking distance, especially for those getting off the nearby subway station. It has an Italian theme with spacious seating areas indoors and outdoors. They offer a variety of sweet snacks, a large selection of tea and coffee, and attentive staff. Located near the local rates of Morden Hall, the place is clean and comfortable for a relaxing chat with friends... View all feedback.
This restaurant is traditional and simple, with an old-fashioned and not trendy vibe. Despite its outdated feel, it is one of the best old fish and chip shops in Glasgow's East End. The decor features Formica tables, old photos, and posters on the walls. The menu is basic, the service is efficient, and the prices are excellent value. Don't expect a gourmet experience here, just enjoy your Fish Tea and feel like you've traveled back to the 1960s.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and offered great value. I enjoyed the old style original features and fittings of the place. The two men running the restaurant, who were possibly father and son, were very hospitable and chatty with all the customers. Their natural friendliness surpassed the forced hospitality found in chain restaurants. Overall, the combination of excellent value, tasty food, and charming atmosphere make this place a true gem. And if you have room for dessert, the ice cream is definitely worth saving space for!
I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and what a discovery. It feels like stepping back in time. We ordered a small portion of fish and chips. The fish was incredibly fresh and the batter was light. Everything was delicious. The owner was very friendly and shared information about a nearby theater and the history of the restaurant. Despite the limited space at the tables, the authenticity of the place makes it well worth a visit. I will definitely return next time I'm in Glasgow.
I visited this historic fish and chip restaurant on a recent trip home to Glasgow. It was a lovely old fashioned experience. My 81 year old dad, used to come here with our mum, so was delighted to go back. We were warmly welcomed, the owner was very friendly. Food was lovely and very good value for money. Only downside was benches were a bit close together, but we realise this is part of the old fashioned charm. Fish, chips, tea, bread and butter for £7.50! We will def be back
Was in Glasgow Saturday night stumbled across football parade which was at Glasgow cross area which I didn't know it was on anyway my wife went into cafe for 2 sausage suppers to takeaway which to be fair were really nice on nearly completion of my food my wife said £10 for 2 sausage suppers was a bit steep agreed . The reason I am writing this is that your normal price at any given time is £4 know it's only £2 of a difference but that's a bit naughty because of a football parade want be getting my custom again
