While some patrons celebrate its vibrant atmosphere and fantastic metal music, others lament its outdated decor and overpriced drinks. Service issues arise, particularly regarding an unusual dress code that some find unwelcoming. Despite complaints of cleanliness in restrooms and questionable management responses, loyal customers cherish the friendly vibe, tasty food, and communal spirit, especially during events like quizzes. Whether it’s a pre-gig gathering or a casual night out, this venue remains a staple for rock enthusiasts, even amidst its polarizing reputation.
I have had many enjoyable evenings at The Solid over the years. The music is good, the atmosphere is friendly, and the food and drinks are reasonably priced.
Unpleasant hostess at the entrance. I appreciate giving you something to gossip about this week, but I am feeling exhausted and uninterested. The establishment and bar seem tired.
If you're a music lover in town for a concert, this is the place to be. You're bound to meet other concert-goers here. Just make sure to order a cider on tap that isn't too fizzy.
Great bar with rock music, good variety of beers, we didn't try the food but it looked good, the music was very varied and of quality.
Always make a stop here when I’m in town since I was 18 and I’m 37 now. Good music and vibe. And the smell had gone which used to be a kind of sewage problem with alot of Glasgow bars, it was totally gone place was spotless and fresh. The drinks can be expensive but most places are these days. I just enjoy the location and vibe of this bar.
