Contribute FeedbackA recent visit to Chaophraya in Glasgow presented a mix of opinions, from underwhelming and expensive experiences to delightful food and good service. While some felt the service was unwelcoming and substandard, others praised the delicious dishes, such as red duck curry and mango+cucumber salad. The beautiful building and varied menu were highlighted, though some found the lighting and maintenance lacking. Overall, the restaurant was considered a classy place with excellent food options, but with some improvements needed in service and pricing. Despite mixed feedback, Chaophraya remains a popular choice in Glasgow for a memorable dining experience.
This is a high-quality Thai restaurant with an excellent menu. While it may be somewhat expensive, it is worth every penny. It is my favorite Thai restaurant in Scotland. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.
My experience at the restaurant last night was very disappointing. The Thai fish cakes lacked the texture and lemongrass flavor that we usually enjoy. The tacos were hard and dry, and the red curry with tofu was not pre-cooked or browned as it normally should be. I was shocked to see that sticky rice was priced at £5! Additionally, the Pad Thai was filled with red onion, which was overwhelming as I have never had Pad Thai with red onion before.
The restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere with great food and drinks. It's perfect for a romantic date night, but may not be suitable for young children due to its higher price point.
It has been a few years since I have been in chaophraya. It has went downhill dramatically.the service was unwelcoming and the food was so expensive for what you got.
Feel like it was a very underwhelming experience and very expensive for what we had. Sadly this was a disappointing visit foodwise and service wise. The building is beautiful but is starting to look a bit shabby! Stairway carpets all threadbare and the dim lighting at entrance and in bar is so low it’s difficult to see the reception area. Staff in bar too interesting in chatting to each other instead of providing good service.
