You get what you pay for when it comes to coffee shops this is one of my favourite Nero 's. Comfortable, handy and extremely clean and efficient. I used to be a 100% Costa dude, but (apart from the Central Station 'unit ' since Covid I have felt as welcome and valued as a f*rt at a wedding. 'Times they are a changing ' sang Uncle Bob Dylan and I doubt I 'll ever be able to reclaim my Costa comfort zone hell I even we... View all feedback.
What Rambling Giant doesn't like about Caffe Nero:
This was my first time trying Caffè Nero, and I was pleasantly surprised. The location of this particular branch was on the corner of Hope and Waterloo Street. The coffee had a strong, creamy taste, but it wasn't the best I've ever had, especially compared to other similar high street cafes. I ordered a latte and a slice of Belgian Chocolate Cake. The cake was enjoyable, but a bit on the dry side. Overall, it was a d... View all feedback.
I use this as my quick coffee stop for work. It's my absolute go to every time I'm in the city centre!
This is a great spot to stop for coffee. The staff is extremely helpful and the prices are reasonable. It can get quite crowded at times. There is also an outdoor seating area, but the noise from traffic can be overwhelming.
I really don’t make these types of reviews however I was really upset by how I was spoken to and treated yesterday that I really needed to write this. I was stopping by to kill some time early in the morning and to have a coffee with my work team before we had something planned. I was waiting in line ready to be served to then be told we couldn’t pay by cash and it had to be card I was a bit embarrassed as I only had cash on me and to my dismay I had to put food back, scanned myself in and then proceeded to head over to the table where most of the others were sitting. As I was trying to do this discretely because of my embarrassment, the woman behind the bar (seemed to be the manager) who I couldn’t hear very well seemed like she was trying to stop me, so I said sorry I’m not getting anything, I’m going to sit with the rest of the table. She continued to bark at me saying I needed to scan myself in even though I had and I did mention however she never listened. She got extremely heated and was very rude and aggressive shouting you need to scan. To diffuse I just went back over to pretend to scan again so that she would stop shouting at me. It was so bad that I was asked if I was okay by others and it was commented that she was very rude and not nice at all. I understand working with the general public can be very stressful and tiring as I do it myself. However, I really find that unacceptable. I really don’t expect to be spoken to like that. I eventually got over to the table where the others were sitting and I felt about 2 ft tall and was trying to hold back my tears. I’m really disappointed by this and would really suggest that more customer service training is provided. I think it’s important for businesses to make you feel welcome and that is something I definitely did not feel.
The food and the service was excellent. Customers are well looked after. I had a pizza, it was so good, but just too much. What I had left I ended up taking it out and giving to a homeless man. It made his day.
Always lovely coffee with a smile handy in my way to work Good pastries to go with as well. Would recommend .
