We had a fantastic meal at Bo’vine. The Chateaubriand was delicious and the staff were all lovely and attentive. Julie really looked after us. A fantastic experience. Five stars! View all feedback.
What cec1966 doesn't like about Bo'vine:
Not the best service. We arrived on Hogmanay at 8pm to be told that we shouldn’t really have been allowed to make the booking because they were closing at 9pm. After speaking to the kitchen staff, the waitress said we would be fine to eat. We waited till 8.39 for our food. Then at 9pm on the dot, we were presented with our bill. Food was ok at best, we won’t be back. View all feedback.
I have been meaning to dine at this restaurant for years, as I live nearby. I finally decided to treat myself tonight, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The staff was friendly, but the beetroot starter was just ok. The ingredients seemed to have come straight out of the fridge, lacking flavor. The steak and chips were decent, but the garlic butter sauce was too oily. The tomato and red onion salad consisted of thick slices of cold tomato and red onion on top of salad leaves, without any dressing, and definitely not worth the £4.50 charge. The cheese selection felt more like an M&S cheese board for one rather than something from Ian Mellis. Overall, the food wasn't bad (except for the tomato salad), but for the price, it did not meet the standard expected. There are plenty of other, better places in the West End to go for steak.
Unfortunately didn't read previous reviews and came here for The Grosvenor's afternoon tea. Service was terrible although there were several staff it was still chaotic. We had to wait over an hour for food and when it came was haphazardly presented no finesse. No choice of teas and no individual pots which resulted in luke warm tea which you had to wait for. Sandwiches were poorly presented. Clearly they have not acted upon previous reviews which is disappointing.
My wife took me to Bo'Vine for my 60th birthday. It has a warm friendly atmosphere, good knowledgeable staff and the food was exquisite, the best meal I have had for decades. I can't recall the last time i gave a 5 star review for anything, but this is definitely deserved.
Dined here on the chateaubriand groupon deal and couldn’t fault our experience. Our server was brilliant and the food was tasty. We added some extra accompaniments to our meal (bread and olives to start, beef fat carrots and Mac and cheese) and everything was cooked perfectly. I do think that my partner may have still been a bit hungry if we hadn’t added on these bits to what was included in the offer so do bear that in mind if you are someone with a bigger appetite. All in all, we found this to be good value for money. Only disappointing thing is that the staff do not receive any tips paid on card, only cash which must result in them missing out frequently. The company should rectify this to make sure staff get what they deserve.
We went to this restaurant for Easter lunch and the food was fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, and there was good music playing. The beef was cooked perfectly and very tender. I would definitely recommend this place.
