Contribute FeedbackThe reviews for the restaurant are mixed. Some diners found the batter oily, while others enjoyed the gluten-free fish and chips. Service was friendly, with some guests praising the staff and pleasant atmosphere. However, others experienced slow service and difficulties booking a table. The cod supper was a hit, arriving quickly and tasty, while others found the prices to be too high for the quality. Despite the ups and downs, many plan to return or recommend the chippy doon the lane for its overall good food and atmosphere.
The batter was extremely oily, which was disappointing given the high price. However, the staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was nice. It's probably best to go to the Blue Lagoon instead of this pretentious and expensive option.
My son and I decided to grab a quick meal at this restaurant. We were surprised by the high price of £55 for two pints, starters, and two fish and chips that were undercooked and needed more time in the fryer. The first thing the server asked us was if we had any vouchers, which we did not. We were disappointed that they did not offer us a discounted rate instead of charging us the full expensive a la carte price.
I have been to the Chippy Doon the Lane on several occasions and always enjoyed my time there.
Visted this restaurant many times never have any complaints.
