The personal was not proaktiw. we had to ask them for a drink menu and take our order. the worst thing was that we waited for half an hour after cleaning up our main course, before we are only asked after the Dessert menu that they had stopped eating food.
Usually love Firebird, but booked to go for some dinner with a friend prior to a gig in Kelvingrove Bandstand. Took over an hour to get our food resulting in us having to rush it down to make the gig in time , drinks and sides orders got mixed up. Staff didn't communicate with each other so a lot of confusion over our orders. They were obviously very busy but they should have staff numbers/kitchen to cover bookings. Staff tried their best but it just wasn't up to scratch and very disappointing. Also never mentioned that their card machine wasn't working, so as we were rushing out to our gig, we were informed we would have to go out to cash machine to get cash and return in order to pay, which caused further delay. Probably just a bad night but not good enough when Id recommended it as ideal spot for a quick bite to eat.
Had a really nice evening in firebird. My husband and I were child free, so took advantage, we weren't disappointed. Restaurant was very busy, and was hosting a birthday party. There was slight mix up and delay with starters, but the waitress apologied and took them off the bill. Food was deelish, had a really good atmosphere and the birthday girl even gave us some cake. Will definitely be back .
The staff at the restaurant was not attentive. We had to request a drink menu and place our order ourselves. The service was disappointing as we had to wait for half an hour after finishing our main course before asking for the dessert menu, only to be told that they had already stopped serving food.
I have visited this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the great food, atmosphere, and service. However, on a recent visit, I had a disappointing dish called Daft court. It consisted of only three Kingish prawns for £7.50. The prawns were fully dressed in bowls, heads on, and covered in boiling hot sauce. They were served in a hot metal bowl without a finger bowl or towel. Despite this, it did not ruin the overall meal experience and I will still return to the restaurant (just not for the shrimp dish).
