City Sushi is fantastic. They offer great food, service, and atmosphere. I enjoy the music they play, although it might not be for everyone. The prices are reasonable and the service is quick. I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5. The only drawback is that they may not have a standout dish, but that is not a big issue. Overall, a top restaurant in Glasgow. View all feedback.
What Francesco Kiefer doesn't like about Central Sushi:
Nice little sushi place and customer service was lovely. There was alot of pink meat in my 'vegetable dumplings ' so I could not eat them. I assumed they were vegetarian! View all feedback.
The restaurant is small and I could imagine it gets very busy, but I went during off-peak hours. The menu is short and reasonably priced, with a variety of items. I sat at the bar and was able to watch my food being prepared. It's important to mention that they do not have a liquor license and have limited tea options. The main choices are fizzy drinks and a few mocktails.

Central Sushi had been looming large on the NOMination horizon for a while and so on Tuesday we ventured in. On first look the place is tiny but there is extra seating up the stairs. Whilst I'm sure this space is really useful when busy we were the only table not seated on the ground floor which made for a slightly odd, and to be honest a bit disappointing, dining experience. Being away from the hubbub of the main restaurant and sushi bar certainly took something away from our experience. Being a sushi joint you get your usual array of sashimi, nigiri, maki, cones and rolls along with a main dish menu consisting of tempura and ramen bowls. For start we ordered some chicken gyozas, California rolls and spicy tuna maki. Everything was nice but didn't blow away and for me the spicy tuna maki lacked some punch. As is tradition when seeing soft shell crab on the menu this too was ordered and was nice, with a good batter to crab ratio. For main two of us went for the deluxe tempura. The tempura fish and vegetables, especially the sweet potato, were nice but the dipping sauce was a bit anaemic, so much so that we ditched it for the soy sauce. It could have done with something to break up the bites, as whilst a plate of pure tempura sounds good it got a tad samey, a wee pickled salad would have been great. There is no alcohol on the menu so when we got the bill we had found ourselves having had a cheap and cheerful dinner. It was nice and if I was asked to go again I wouldn't protest but it just didn't feel as great as it could've been.
Headed here with Sarah N for a spot of dinner and good catch-up. Staff were really lovely! Very friendly, accommodating and attentive. Pretty basic interior, however it works well. There are a number of stools allowing you to dine along the side of the restaurant and a seating area upstairs with benches and bigger tables. Its a relaxed atmosphere with has lots of little tea-light candles dotted around. We opted for a mixture of small dishes so we could pick and choose, getting a variety of different flavours. The dishes came separately, but at a nice pace so there was always something new to try. The mixed Sashimi was first up, of course no cooking required there!! It was fresh, served with spiralized radish and wasabi. The tuna maki and roll were really delicious, plenty of ginger, soy and wasabi to complement them. The wasabi prawns were deep fried and covered in wasabi mayo. This wasn't stated on the menu, so not what we expected and was quite heavy, however really tasty. The beef tataki salad was fresh, good portion size with a really spicy dressing! Nose burning at times!!! All in all we had a lovely meal, and I will defo be back to try some of the Ramen dishes as they looked amazing!.
I wanted to love Central Sushi so badly but sadly, the sashimi I got was a bit meh hence the 3 stars. Firstly, I 'm impressed with the space it 's nicer inside than I expected and I like how there 's a mezzanine for extra seating. I was just getting takeaway so ordered at the bar. Firstly, the girl said the menu is over there when I asked about take away what she meant by over there was under two customers who were eating so that was a bit awkward. I ordered the smallest portion of sashimi to take away £9). Thankfully it was ready quite quickly and off I went. I was a little surprised when I peeked in the bag as the portion looked really small but it 's because they arranged it into flowers so there was three pieces of each kind of sashimi, 9 pieces in all. The salmon sushi was a little bland for my tastes which was disappointing, and another piece of sashimi hadn 't been trimmed properly so it had a bit of sinew in it. I actually didn 't eat the other two pieces as I could see flecks of skin where there wasn 't meant to be skin). All up, it was very much ok sashimi I would definitely go back here to eat in to give it another try but for now, my preference for Japanese in the city centre is still Nippon Kitchen.
