The Duel in the Sun between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson was one of the great moments in golf history, and this is one of the great restaurants in the world, at one of the great golf resorts in the world Trump Turnberry in Scotland (by the way we love Scotland) so well deserving of the name. This place is as good as it gets. Nothing beats enjoying a delicious Trump steak and diet coke while looking out over the beaut... View all feedback.
What Paul Dunne doesn't like about Duel In The Sun:
I ordered the luxury fish and chips. Haddock, lobster, scallop and squid. Haddock was nice but the rest was over cooked in the deep fat fryer. Really not the way to be doing lobster, scallops. Really over priced for what it is. View all feedback.
Beautiful building with fantastic views. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being overbearing while the food was excellent. Looking forward to going back!
Waited 10 minutes. We had to ask for the table to be cleaned. The girl who eventually served us was good but whilst busy the wait was far too long.
Ordered breakfast and after 15 minutes of ordering said there was no maple syrup so had to change and reorder. When food came was well presented and very tasty. Omitted a Diet Coke from order and took three attempts to eventually get one.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food isn't bad, maybe need a bit upgrade! Nice surroundings! I prefer nice music instead the TVs that sawing golf.
For once I was disappointed when I came for lunch today. We were shown to our table but hadn't even sat down before a staff member was over asking for a drinks order. We said what we wanted and she left. Drinks arrived reasonably quickly unlike the staff who were leaning against the bar and never came over to take our order. Eventually I managed to call one over and we placed out order. It seemed to take forever before the plates arrived (a sandwich and a haggis starter with a bowl of fries). Unfortunately the haggis had been replaced by pate for some reason so that had to go back. At this point I complained to the waiting staff who took my plate away and the bowl of fries. Later the correct order was delivered but the fries were only warm and nowhere hot. Another complaint and the manager apologised and took the fries off the bill. I've been before and had a great experience but this time it was just not up to scratch with staff standing around and not attending to the small number of guests that were there.
