What Christopher Barulich doesn't like about Alpine Cafe Bakery:
OVERPRICED DOUGH/ tourist trap. This place used to be good but the donut was awful with barely any glaze probably the worst I ever had and the cookies were terrible as well. Barely any chocolate and the snickerdoodle was basic with very little cinnamonor sugar tasted like a bland dough cookie with a little bit of sugar. Also for $40+ for a few donuts and cookies what?? Used togo here 4 years ago and it was completely... View all feedback.
The Alpine Café and Bakery in Girdwood, Alaska, is a delightful spot to satisfy your cravings, especially if you have a sweet tooth. During my visit, I indulged in their mouthwatering apple fritter, and I must say, it was worth every penny. The fritter was bursting with flavor, with a perfect balance of tender dough and delicious apple filling. While the six-dollar price tag may seem a bit steep, the quality and taste of the fritter made it a worthwhile treat.

Extra large cinnamon roll. large apple fritter. Very good. Fast friendly service.
Stopped by for a few bakery items after stopping for gas around the corner. There was a good selection of items from donuts, cookies, muffins, scones, fritters, croissants, cinnamon rolls, etc... as well a wide range of hot drinks. The pastries looked good behind the case, so ordered a scone, apple fritter, and peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. Person working was nice and friendly. The prices are high, but not surprising in a touristy area that's also at a popular stop along the Seward Highway and near the Alaska Wildlife Conversation Center. As far as the taste, they were ok. Scone was a little drier than usual, cookie and apple fritter were both ok. It would be hard to justify the prices if it wasn't for the location. It's good for a a quick pastry or breakfast stop, but don't expect high-quality bakery items.
Swung in and had the most fluffy and delicious maple glazed Bavarian filled donut ever; ate it before I could take a pic!! Apple danish was good but could have had some more filling in it. A lil pricey but it was good, I’ll pay money for good food and service all day. Service was excellent and with a smile Had a good selection and delicious smelling drinks we didn’t get this round. Would definitely return.
