The restaurant is currently closed for renovations. We drove all the way from San Jose, only to discover that it was closed. To our surprise, there were quite a few other people who had come as well. View all feedback.
On our way home, we stopped in Gilroy and stumbled upon OD's Kitchen. The service was outstanding, and the food came out quickly and fresh. I had the Linguicia Omelet, which I thought was even better than traditional Portuguese sausage; it was topped with green onions that reminded me of home. The homemade hash browns and cookies were delightful as well. The quality and portion sizes of the food were very generous; we even had leftovers to take with us. I highly recommend checking out this place if you're in the San Jose/Monterey area, as it's conveniently situated between the two.
For lunch, they serve amazing sandwiches and burgers made with handmade patties, along with homemade soup every day and fresh salads dressed with their own house-made dressings. Be prepared for a wait on busy Fridays and weekends, as they prioritize serving you hot, homemade food over fast food. It's definitely worth it!
We were looking for a local restaurant rather than a chain, and this place was perfect! The service and the atmosphere, along with a few charming quirks, were fantastic. If you're in search of a fancy, upscale dining experience, this isn’t the spot for you. However, if you want a warm, cozy café with great food at a good price, then you’re in for a treat! Enjoy!
