Cafe Thyme - Gilroy
Cafe Thyme
Description
Nestled in the heart of the city, this local restaurant offers a promising dining experience, although guests have noted room for improvement. While the food, including standout dishes like short ribs and pecan chicken, is generally well-received, service can be uneven, with meals not arriving simultaneously. Diners appreciate the friendly staff and quality ingredients, though the ambiance lacks coziness and can feel sterile, especially during live music events. With attentive service and an array of flavorful options, guests are eager to return, hoping for enhancements in atmosphere and timing to complement the delicious meals.

We've dined at this restaurant twice now and thoroughly enjoyed both experiences! This evening, we shared the chicken spinach salad, which featured green apple, dried cranberries, fresh sweet orange slices, and a delicious buttermilk cider dressing. It was only slightly lacking in blue cheese crumbles, but it was loaded with fruit and tender chicken. Each entrée includes a choice of soup or salad, and we both opted for the tomato bisque (the other option was clam chowder). My boyfriend had the pork tenderloin while I chose the pecan chicken, both served with sweet potato mash and sautéed veggies, all for just $18 each! The value was fantastic, and we received attentive service from Manuel, who even offered us a refill on our cherry limeade. We will definitely continue to come back!
This restaurant offers incredibly tasty and healthy food. We stopped by for a quick meal while heading to San Francisco, and the lamb was absolutely delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would certainly return here in the future. Although the strip mall where it’s situated may not seem impressive from the outside, once you step inside, you're greeted by a delightful array of culinary delights and modern recipes.
I'm a bit late but I finally wanted to write my review for the amazing service we got from Diane. Last year in November, my partner and I got married and one of the things you need for a wedding is of course a caterer that provides delicious food for all the hungry guests. We had a smaller wedding with only about 40 guests. After looking at different caterers and getting a bit desperate because the date came closer and closer we finally found Diane and Just in Thyme. We met up with her in her restaurant to discuss a potential menu and what other items we would need (like plates and glasses, etc). Diane was super helpful with the planning. We had a few ideas for a potential menu but only with Diane's help were we able to come up with a tasty sounding list of dishes. On the wedding day, Diane and her helpers came by the place we rented and started cooking (we had a big kitchen in there for her to do her magic). In a few hours, she put together an amazing menu to feed 40 people. We booked buffet-style serving and once the tables were set, food was served. I am still amazed -thinking back on it- how great the food was. Several of my friends who attended the wedding also commented on how tasty it was. They expected standard wedding food which is not necessarily always a hit and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and great flavor of what was served. Diane's food certainly made a great day even better. She wasn't even bothered by some of my relatives sneaking into the kitchen to get a better look on what's cooking. I am actually surprised not more people tried to get in there because the food smells coming out of there were just that amazing. I can highly recommend her services. It was a joy dealing with her and setting everything up.
