Open Range Grill - Gilmer

Good food and great service. We highly recommend Open Range !

This place is amazing! We went to lunch at 12:30 on Saturday. We almost didn't stop because there was no car in the parking lot. The open sign was on, so we went in. And boy, I'm glad we made it!! We were immediately greeted and sitting. The fresh pig pig pigs with Boom Boom sauce were amazing! We both had the chicken fried steak-lunch special and were absolutely blown away, how good and tender it was. Portions were large and the meal was well presented. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and they prepared for the evenings live music event. I wish I had asked our server his name, because he deserves a great review for his service and personality. I can't believe this place was not packed when you offer food and service so well. We will definitely be back for more and look forward to it.

It was a beautiful place. Actually, I didn't know it was there. The inside is much better than the outside. The only thing I didn't like was that the kitchen was closed before we arrived (8:50 or so). We went to a performance at the Civic Center, which was finished at about 830. We only ordered pizza (which was quite good, I must say), but would have preferred to order from the menu. Anyway, the manager might want to see if something goes in the city before cutting the kitchen hours. Just a proposal. I would try again if I were to be back in this area.

Had the ribbed eye cooked with delicious sides. The prices were fair for the portions. Large dining area with bar, stage and dance floor. Live music when we came in could have been a little less volume for dinner less, but the country elections were nice. Axe throwing area in the room next door... Area Master was very nice and informative... good experience overall...

We eat here all the time. You ordered a certain bourbon for my drink when we visit. Food is always great. I have to get another waitress or waitress who didn't leave us a great time. The axe that throws is fun.
