Description

Gilmanton Pub exudes charm with its quaint, historical ambiance, making it a potential gem for dining enthusiasts. While some guests rave about standout dishes like the bruschetta and Lobster Ravioli, others express disappointment with overcooked meatballs and bland burgers. Service experiences vary; some commend the friendly staff, while others note long wait times and misunderstandings with orders. The atmosphere remains a bright spot, complemented by cozy dining nooks and a fireplace. As patrons navigate a menu with uneven quality and prices that can surprise, the pub has strengths but also areas needing improvement before it becomes a must-visit destination.

For the night we went I?d have to give it one star. There were three of us, no one else was in the dining room when we got there, maybe two tables outside. Everyone was very nice but the service was terrible, the servers would just disappear, and ittook forever to order, when the food did come one of our dishes was supposed to be brisket, it was cold and dried out along the string beans were cold and flavorless, the mashed potatoes were the only warm good thing. The chicken cacciatore wasswimming in way too much sauce and were never offered the pasta or rice like on the menu, just served with rice. The meatballswere just OK. The Bahama Mama?s were good. When asked about our meals we told the server about the brisket, said it wasn?tedible except for the mashed potatoes, they did apologize but only offered to take half off the price, so the mashed potatoesended up costing $10 !!!!!!!! Not sure if we will try again?

The atmosphere was nice and the waitress was friendly. The food was blah and overpriced especially given the small portions. The food was not home made. It either came from a can or frozen. Some of the other reviews rave about the pizza. That looked good atother tables, but we ordered entrees and desserts which were not very well made. We felt disappointed.

When else will you have the opportunity to dine and drink in a tavern/carriage house built in 1793! Once an overnight stagecoach stop between Dover and Canada you'll receive a lesson in history in an emersive environment while eating delicious food. Veryhighly recommended!

Such a sweet little spot, and it's kinda creepy too which I like???? lots of history to this place, and they have yummy pizza joint snacks. I loved the fireplace in there. The host was super kind to us.
