While speaking with the locals I not only met some of my relatives (previously unknown to me) they brought me to Tipico 47 SM and introduced me to Mary Terese. We laughed, we cried, and she her husband put out a spread of food to die for. It was one of the best meals I had in all of Italy. Their hospitality will be a memory for a lifetime and I hope to visit them again. Tipico 47 SM is a place you must indulge yourself with, I'm confident that they'll make you feel like you've known them forever and it is exactly the type of food you dream about when you think of authentic Italian cuisine. I was actually there for my 50th B-day a year ago but just signed up for Trip Advisor. I feel so strongly about this place that I had to go back and write a review ....even if it is not recent.

I had actually seen the restaurant, Tipico 47 SM, online before we left the U.S.A., but kind of forgot about it. While in lovely Gildone, one of the locals directed us to Tipico for a meal. It was fabulous, and the owners (Guiseppe and Mary) went out of their way to make us feel at home. They prepared traditional Sicilian, fresh, homemade food for us. The anti pasta was enough for a meal. I can't tell you what all the dishes were, but we took pictures of everything beautiful and delicious. We managed the primi pasta,but had to draw the line at secondi, because we were too full. All of this, plus 2 carafes of wine, bottles of water, for 37 euro. Best meal, best value in all of our 17 day trip. I don't know how to answer some of the questions about the restaurant, but I will add the interior is decorated delightfully with a colorful mural of Sicily in room, and one of Molise in the other. The rooms are cheerful, clean, and festive. It appeared there was a party going on in the other room, with a fairly large group of people. It is worth a trip from a nearby town or city to have a meal here. you will not regret it! Also, I would like to add that the people in Gildone were warm and wonderful.
