I've been a patron of Panda Express for two decades, but tonight's experience was the worst I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, we were met by a rude and unfriendly employee who I suspect was the manager, as she was dressed in all black. My wife had to repeat her order three times because the employee never looked up, and she responded with an annoyed tone, asking the same question even after not hearing our answers properly. After she finally served us our food, she proceeded to ask a series of quick questions in a robotic and extremely rude manner. Our order was processed on a tablet and then set aside. Meanwhile, five employees were gathered in the back office, completely ignoring us as they chatted amongst themselves. We waited at the register for an extended period, watching our food get cold. I tried to get their attention several times by saying, "Hello, can someone help us?" but they all continued to ignore us, even though they were less than 12 feet away. I raised my voice, calling out "Hello!" repeatedly, but no one looked up from their conversation. In frustration, I shouted, "Will you help us?" At that point, the original brunette employee approached us rudely and stated, without making eye contact, that someone would be with us shortly. The only other person in the establishment was a larger woman dressed in pajama-like clothing, seemingly a friend of the staff. I lost my patience and suggested they could just take our order off the system. One of the employees replied that they felt the same way. As we started to leave, the larger woman, who had been near us, expressed disbelief at my comment. I responded that they should focus on doing their jobs. Then, an employee behind the counter threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. I told her to go ahead, stating I was going to let my neighbor—a local police officer—know about the situation. She questioned if that was a threat, to which I affirmed it was, given their behavior. I came in to enjoy a meal with my wife, but instead, I found myself in a shouting match with someone who was clearly a friend of the rude employee behind the counter, just hanging out. With no other customers around, this was a truly nightmarish experience. I would strongly advise against visiting this Panda Express. I believe a call from the state food inspector is urgently needed, as it seems like a terrible place to work. It’s disappointing for the owners of this establishment.
