Best burger I've had in a long time. I finally made it to Hy Iu Hee Hee after hearing from friends who live in the Gig Harbor/Purdy area that they have good food. They aren't kidding! My Wagyu burger came with fries, huge, it was $15 I customized it with an egg and avocado. It was a great deal. Juicy, perfectly cooked, great bun and fries. What Bryce Stone (Isiat Carcer) doesn't like about Hy-iu-hee-hee:
Met with family friends for breakfast on a Saturday and had to leave due to a complete lack of service when the restaurant was only at about quarter capacity. It took 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table after being seated. My Wagyu burger came with fries, huge, it was $15 I customized it with an egg and avocado. It was a great deal. Juicy, perfectly cooked, great bun and fries. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu, especially the fish chips and the pizza. Jovial, somewhat loud, casual atmosphere. Super friendly staff. They have darts and pool. Kids are allowed into the back part of the space, the center is the bar. Very casual. Hy Iu Hee Hee was founded in 1935... Definitely a beloved institution. Parking is easy in the lot with plenty of adjacent space.
Food is actually pretty good for burgers, wings, pizza, etc. However, the service is almost non-existent and often times the bartenders will purposefully ignore you. There are usually a handful of extremely hammered regulars that are melted into the barstools who think they run the show. Not the most welcoming atmosphere but it grows on you. The drinks (strong) and food are about as good as you'll get for this area of town. I was born and raised in Gig Harbor and have been here at least 30 times for context.
Great place for a hangout! Not if you're looking for the Ritz. If you're looki g for a great place for drinks and fellowship, this is the place.
Awesome down to earth vibe. Good bar food. Awesome staff.
