Most restaurants on the coast are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, even during the very busy tourist summers. We were happy to find somewhere open that wasn't pub food. The atmosphere was really good and although there seemed to be not enough staff on duty, waters were dropped off right away. Once we ordered from the extensive menu, the food arrived not long after and looked amazing and tasted great. Was impressed by... View all feedback.

Originally, this restaurant was amazing when it first opened. However, now the quality is inconsistent. Some days the food and service are great, while other days are a bit disappointing. View all feedback.
We were just driving through town to our B&B when we found this Japanese restaurant. The food was so delicious, husband and I shared a House Salad and chicken teriyaki meal and couldn’t finish it, the portions were so generous. Staff were great, so happy we found this place.
Don’t judge this book by its cover! After living here for almost 5 years we finally gave Won a try during a spontaneous Monday dinner. From the road it looks dubious, tucked away in an old, tired, dated looking hotel. But inside? Won’s an authentic Japanese gem. Despite the fact that they were unexpectedly slammed, we got a table immediately, the servers were super friendly and as quick as they could be, but the food was the star of the show. We ordered two miso soups, the oshinko roll, the negitoro roll, the pork and vegetable gyoza, the tempura appetizer, and the “crazy roll” a California roll wrapped in smoked salmon topped with deep fried prawn and tobiko. Everything from the sushi to the gyoza was meticulously prepared and extremely fresh. Even the tempura was made with love. While not fine dining Japanese, for a casual mid week meal Won won me over! I will happily dine here again.
Loved the layout of the restaurant. One portion was very open and contained traditional style seating. This room also offered a view of the kitchen and sushi chef. The other side was more intimate and had the view of the bar. We ordered two different Bento boxes for lunch. One yam roll bento box and one sashimi bento. Both came with a simple salad of romaine ettuce and sweet onion with a hand crafted citrus lemon dressing. This was a pleasant end to the meal. The miso was delicious as was the teriyaki chicken and vegetables. The tempura was fresh and crispy. The sashimi tasted more than fresh and was extremely satisfying. The service was quick and efficient. Out of all of the restaurants we visited in Gibson's during our stay, this had the best. Was very surprised with the quality here. Would recommend and return.
The restaurant offers great value, especially with their roll specials. The sushi is also very well done. There are numerous food choices available and an extensive selection of alcohol on the menu. The waitstaff and chefs are very hospitable.
The food and service was good , however prices a bit expensive at supper (cost us almost $100 for 2 adults and 2 teenagers). Lunch menu way better and will in future only go at lunch time (almost half the price)
