This is a special shop, run by the staff of Denjong Padma Choling Academy for underprivileged children. The benefits go to them. It was founded by Sonam Yongda, the admiral of last king of Sikkim, known as Captain locally. The tea is really good. Other items are OK. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lotus Bakery:
I was there on a horrible wet day so it was great to have a nice locally grown tea to warm me up. They do offer varied cakes and pastries which were a nice change and reasonably priced. The proceeds go to the local school to produce more tea and support the locals, so worth a visit. View all feedback.
This is on the way to Pemayangtse Monastery / Rabdentse Ruins. Offers simple croissants, bread, bun, cakes and tea. tasty and value for money.
Don't expect heavens, this is rustic bakery serving basic baked goods, the beads and buns are freshly prepared and you can enjoy it with hot tea.

Excellent place or the best place to ave Food ( Continental and Nepali ) . The place was developed by German and French as the Orphanage runs by DPC . Have a very unique and lovely Tea Garden . The head of the institute is a very respected Monk Yapu Yongda
On our way to Pemayangtse Monastery we found this quaint bakery that had the yummiest donuts, buns and coconut cookies which we washed down with hot steaming cups of black tea. The best way to charge us up for the walk ahead. We were so impressed that we stopped here once again on our way back from the monastery. A cup of organic tea, one bun and a donut cost us somewhere around Rs 40. Yes, it is that cheap and there is no compromise with the taste. A must-visit if you are in Pelling.
