What Станоје Мирјанић doesn't like about La Petite Chaumiere:
I have tired this place in various seasons and crowd. The welcome is as bad as always. You always feel that you are disturbing them. As for the drink, the hot chocolate was with water rather than milk, and the espresso is perfect to rob...a tourist. So 1 star for consistency over time. Rather starving than going back. I and my family (2 children) stayed in this old fashion without substance hotel for a week (10-17/02 '18,) the madame who owned the place and her colleague were so unwilling, unfriendly, unpleasant, etc., each time we had a request, it looked like we would destroy them. they did not like the fact that we were not French redners and that they were obliged to communicate with their poor English. one evening we had a leak from the dach directly in our bed, because outside rain! the all furnished rooms are old, some items / furniture broken for such an expensive rate! about, we booked for half board at the end we paid more than for a full board. no sense! the only positive thing is that they are so close to the ski slopes (and they play on this,) but as they 't go with the ski boots inside and they 't offer a boat exchange in the hotel. I would not recommend this place to everyone!
Friends fly from the UK for ski weekends and take full board at this hotel which is not expensive and is at the foot of the ski slopes. We have twice had the set dinner with them and found it fairly simple but quite adequate....They claim that a long weekend using la Petite Chaumiere (where they are usually lodged in the annexe) costs them far less (including the Easyjet flights and taxi from the French side of Geneva airport) than a long weekend in a Scottish resort and the snow and weather are likely to be better.
Stopped here for a quick lunch whilst riding our motorcycles through the Alps. A perfect stop for a lovely hot lunch of duck and dauphinoise potatoes, very tasty, quick and extremely good value. Friendly waiting staff and fast service. Nothing to dislike. Recommended.
Taken short we stopped in this restaurant to diner .carte with prices raised for disappointing things in the plate .pas to the height of its map. worthy of a crêperie but not a restaurant .in this magnificent setting and this renown of its geographical location could be done much better for less expensive. very light service.
A single positive point: ideally located.Restauration bad and rather expensive compared to the proposed quality. Almost no home preparation, everything seems to come from frozen and canned. industrial bread of very poor quality, insipid vegetables and simply disappointing dessert. The pie of the day is not fresh at all.Quality of the service quite mediocre. The server swore to us that the desserts were made home, which is certainly not the case. This restaurant is not worth the trip.
