This place delivers excellent value and the food is fantastic. Our server, Mindy, was also wonderful!

There seemed to be qui... read more My friend and I stopped at Valbo 's on the way to Carlyle. What a great locally owned restaurant. Most of the clientele was local people. There seemed to be quite a bit of takeout orders, too. We dined inside, but the patio would be great in the summer months. My friend had the chopped meat dinner. She said it was great. The dinner salad was large and there were lots of dressing choices. The meat had charcoal grilled flavor, the baked potato was perfect, and the broccoli was steamed perfectly with a bit of a crunch. I had the swiss mushroom burger with all the "fixins "and onion rings. It too had a charcoal grill flavor to the burger. I could barely finish it. We were both too full for dessert so I bought a chocolate heath dessert to take to my husband who is camping in Carlyle. As a nurse, I am always interested whether there is hot water in the bathroom and YES there was plenty of hot water. The prices were very fair and the staff were friendly. We will return!
