The training restaurant at the local TAFE serves fantastic value for money meals. Whilst the students are only learning they are closely supervised by highly qualified and experienced professionals. The restaurant is open for Wednesday dinner and Thursday lunch during school terms. View all feedback.
In view of the closure of several geraldton restaurants last year, it was a great surprise to discover this absolute gem. that is the training restaurant for the local tafe college. some ideas about eating in a glorified school dining room were quickly distracted by a beautiful environment and once inside they were not now in a regular restaurant. eating was just wonderful, we had a lamb salad starter and a pumpkin and pear soup for both beginners excellent. main course was a nice steak or local fish all nicely prepared. we finished with deserts that we were completely to eat, but we gave them a good one. the young girl who had prepared the meal also came to our table after feedback, which was excellent to see and she was rewarded with nothing but praise. all this for only $25 per head for 3 courses.
The training restaurant at the local technical college offers great value for money. The students are closely supervised by knowledgeable and experienced professionals while they learn. The restaurant is open for dinner on Wednesdays and lunch on Thursdays during school hours.
Considering the training, the service and food at this restaurant were of excellent quality and offered at a very reasonable price.
We recently visited this restaurant, not by choice, as we had won a prize for participating. We were pleasantly surprised. Despite the fact that the staff were in training, we did not notice any amateurishness. We had called the day before to confirm our reservation. Upon arrival, we were greeted and escorted to our table by a very friendly Irish girl. We were given menus and a drinks list, and our needs were attended to with great care. Other restaurants in the city could learn a thing or two from them. The drink selection was not overly complicated, and the menu, priced at $35 per person, included an appetizer, main course, and dessert with multiple options under each category. Our duck appetizers and salmon and pork main courses were cooked perfectly, and we ended with a delicious chocolate cake. The meals were all of high quality and were served by the trainees, who I am confident could secure positions in any restaurant in Geraldton. The maitre d' observed everything like a hawk, but discreetly. Everyone did a great job. Although the restaurant is only open on selected nights, it is definitely worth a visit as they pleasantly surprised us. The only downside we noticed was that the staff did not wear name tags, making it difficult to identify them by the end of the evening. If you are looking for a midweek dining option, I highly recommend this restaurant.
