This is a traditional dishes eatery where one can choose delicious food. Just like many traditional eatiries, you take away food. Since there is sitting place, you may consume your food here.
Great food! Awesome service five stars and at a reasonable price. Would definitely go back.
Nigel, our guide from Evergreen Adventures, highly recommended this restaurant, and I'm so glad he did! Everything we tasted was delicious, from the liver and duck curry to the roti and watermelon drink. The roti was soft and surprisingly stayed that way even the next day. Everyone in our group of about ten enjoyed their meals. This place serves authentic and flavorful Guyanese cuisine. The service was excellent as well; the staff were polite and courteous, which was somewhat unusual in other restaurants we visited in Georgetown, to be honest. I heard the pachownee is outstanding, but it was already sold out by the time we arrived. I will definitely return for it, along with other dishes, on my next trip! Thank you for the amazing food and superb service.
We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from our tour guide, Nigel at Evergreen Adventures, and wow, it was fantastic! The Bigen choka, dhal, goat curry, duck curry, and roti were all incredible. The dhal was particularly delicious, but I would advise caution for foreigners or anyone with a sensitive stomach, as it might be made with tap water. It did cause me a bit of discomfort. Everything else, though, was absolutely delicious! I wish we could have returned for another meal, but we got busy with other activities. The fresh watermelon juice was especially refreshing! One suggestion I have is to consider replacing the metal roof, as it makes the dining area quite hot, or perhaps installing air conditioning. However, these are minor issues, and I truly loved this hidden gem. The customer service was the best I experienced in Guyana. Sweetie was incredibly kind!
The local Guyanese food here is delightful! Be sure to sample the natural juices—they're fantastic. This is the best meal I've had in Guyana, aside from my Aunt Dawn's cooking in BV, of course! I really wish there was a Sunny and Sweetie in Toronto.
