This was our third time in this excellent restaurant. It's nice to see how Mr. Vildgaard's cooking has continuously developed and, above all, improved year after year. Absolutely impressive. Thank you for a wonderful and very enjoyable evening. View all feedback.
Unbelievably fantastic experience all the way through. There was not a finger to put on either the menu, which with one serving after the other revolved around all the senses, the service which was present, incredibly competent and professionally skilled, or the place which had a lovely atmosphere. A completely sublime evening, 3 well deserved Michelin stars and 5 very big stars here so definitely worth an experience!
The newly awarded three-star Michelin restaurant Jordnær in Denmark, which means down to earth, opened in 2017 and is located on the first floor of the Gentofte Hotel (purchased by Alf Arp-Hansen in 1960). It was awarded one star by Michelin at the beginning of its opening. In 2020, Jordnær won his second Michelin star and occupied Rank 38 in 2022, which shocked all Michelin restaurants in Northern Europe, because it is well known that this is a restaurant without any external funding. The restaurant is helmed by a couple, chef Eric Kragh Vildgaard (who worked in Noma in Denmark for three years and stayed in Japan and France for 1 year each) and restaurant manager and sommelier Tina Kragh Vildgaard (mother of 6 children). On the menu, the chef combines Norwegian shrimp dishes with Icelandic mustard and horseradish sauce. King crab is mixed with blue mussels and Wadduwa spices. Fresh halibut with langoustines, layered with black truffles.
Super impressed with the six small appetizers we got, before heading into a 16 course menu. Rarely have I been served and tasted fish, scallops and langoustine prepared with expertly finish as I have here in Restaurant Jordnær. I will recommend this experience with all the bells and whistles.
A 35th Anniversary splurge we will never forget. Chef Eric and Tina treated us like the royal family. The lunch time tasting was superb. The record albums played in the background as we were bathed in the afternoon sunlight and enjoyed a hyggelich afternoon in their care.
The food is a spectacle, the flavors are absolutely amazing and Eric, Tina and their team seem to soar with world class service. Three stars in Michelin doesn't even do it justice, this place is like no other, absolutely wonderful!
