After a walk to Boccadasse and back, we sat down for a late lunch of trofie pasta pesto alla Genovese and it was simply amazing. The dish was the culinary highlight of our 48 hours in Genoa. And that is saying something as we had some amazing food experiences elsewhere with cheese focaccia and burrata with figs. We regret not trying the pesto focaccia. Next time! Highly recommended!

We grabbed half a dozen and had them down by the water, washed down by a bottle of the Genoese equivalent of a spritz from their fridge. Their pesto is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G, and nestled in it 's light focaccia 'piesta ' nest, just the perfect snack. I wish I lived next door to this place. Or in it.
